Set up 2-factor authentication (2FA)
Description

To add an extra layer of security, we're making 2FA mandatory for all users who log in to Sage websites and services.

With 2FA, after you enter your email address and password, you enter a new 6-digit code each time you log in.

You'll soon receive a prompt to set up 2FA when you log in to a Sage website or service with your username and password.

TIP: You can turn on 2FA yourself instead of waiting for your prompt when logging in. This will allow you to be familiar with using 2FA when it's mandated for your Sage account. For more details visit our article, Manually enable 2FA.

When prompted to set up 2FA, either when logging in or when manually enabling 2FA, click Set up 2-factor authentication.

Set up a recovery method

After you set up your 2FA method and note your recovery code, it’s a good idea to add a recovery method. This is an alternative email address or phone number you can use to reset your 2FA. Alternatively, you can use the recovery method to access a temporary recovery code to log in.

For more information on recovery methods, and how to set them up, visit our Set up a recovery method for 2FA article.

Can multiple people use the same login?

Each user must have their own login credentials and 2FA setup.

Sharing account details with others creates a significant security risk and can lead to unauthorised access and difficulty tracking changes to your data.

To find out how this affects your Sage product, visit the 2FA hub and select your product to find a dedicated article about this.
