Transactions missing from activity window
Description

Sometimes, a transaction you expect in the Activity window of Nominal, Customers, or Suppliers can be missing.

Resolution

The checks you need to make depend on which module is missing transactions. 

Select the relevant module below for the steps to follow:

Refresh the columns 

  1. Select any of the column headings in the activity window. This refreshes the order of the transactions.
  2. Select the No column heading again.

If your transactions are still missing, continue to the Check for filters in the Activity window section.


Check for filters in the Activity window

Check for any filters applied on the Activity window, using the Show field. Select Custom Range or different ranges.  For more information on this, see our Nominal record Activity tab article.



If you have another selection, you can change this to Custom Range then complete the Activity Range window.


Check for the missing transaction in the Transactions module

  1. Go to Transactions and ensure that all transactions show.
  2. Check if any filters exist in this window.
  3. Search for your transaction. Search - Quickly find a transaction.
  4. Select the Nominal column displays the correct Nominal code.

Check Tax Control Account nominal code

If the transaction Net Amount is 0.00 but the Tax Amount has a value, Sage only shows the tax amount in the relevant tax control account. For example, 2200 Sales Tax Control Account.


Check for data corruption

Transactions can be missing due to corruption in your data files. 

To check your data for corruption:

  1. Go to File, then select Maintenance, then Check Data.

Correct any errors or warnings, using the A to Z of Check Data errors article.

Refresh the columns 

  1. Select any of the column headings in the activity window. This refreshes the order of the transactions.
  2. Select the No column heading again.

If your transactions are still missing, continue to the Check All Transactions are displayed in the Activity window section.

Check for any filters applied on the Activity window, using the Show field. Select Custom Range or different ranges. For more information on this, see our articles on the Customer record Activity tab and the Supplier record Activity tab. 

NOTE:

 

If you've got another selection, change this to Custom Range then complete the Activity Range window.


Check for the missing transaction in the Transactions module

If the issue persists, check for the missing transaction in the Transactions module:

  1. Go to Transactions and ensure that all transactions are showing.
  2. Check if any filters exist in this window.
  3. Search for your transaction. Search - Quickly find a transaction.
  4. Check the information in each column is the correct. For example, the Account column shows the correct Customer or Supplier account reference.

Check if you've excluded deleted transactions

You can hide deleted transactions from the Customers or Suppliers Activity window.

  1. Go to Settings then Company Preferences.
  2. Select Parameters and uncheck the Exclude deleted transactions checkbox.

Check for data corruption

Transactions can be missing due to corruption in your data files. 

To check your data for corruption:

  1. Go to File, then select Maintenance then Check Data.

If the activity has no transactions, open Demo Data and if the activity window is blank, repair your installation of Sage 50 Accounts.
