This article explains how to prepare for, download and install Sage 50 Accounts v24 if you're upgrading from Sage 50 Accounts v23 or earlier.

These steps apply to Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50cloud Accounts.

Check your system requirements

If you bought your computer in the last couple of years, it's likely your computer will meet the system requirements. However, if required, you, or your IT support, can check the recommended system requirements.

Check and back up your data

Before upgrading you should check your data to ensure there are no errors and take a backup. Repeat this for each company you have set up in Sage Accounts.

Download Sage 50 Accounts
  1. Log onto your computer as an administrator and close all software.
  2. Click the download link below. You will be prompted to log onto My Sage to access the download.
    Download Sage 50 Accounts
  3. Enter your My Sage login details, click Sign In, then click Download.
Depending on your Internet browser, the file saves in your Downloads folder or you're prompted to save the file.
  4. If prompted to save the file, note the file name, browse to where you want to save it, then click Save.
Install your new software

If you use Sage Drive to share your accounts data, we recommend that you check which computer is your main site and upgrade this first.
