Check if you're using Remote Data Access
Description

With Remote Data Access (RDA), you can get to your Sage 50 Accounts data wherever you are, as long as you're online.

If you aren't sure if you've set RDA up for your company data, there are a few ways to check.

Resolution

You can check if you're connected in the below places:

Status bar

  1. Log on to your company.
  2. Check the Remote Data Access indicator on the status bar at the bottom.
  • If it states 'Online', you've connected RDA and you can access your data remotely
  • The software won't display this indicator if you haven't set up RDA on this company

Remote Data Access Online on the status bar.

Help About window

  1. On the menu bar, go to Help then select About.
  2. Under Features Enabled, check that Remote Data Access shows as Yes.

'Yes' means that you've connected RDA.
  3. To check further details, go to the Remote Data Access Information section in the middle column.
  • Company ID - A unique ID for your company. Displays with or without RDA
  • Dataset ID - each site has this ID to check all use the same company data. Displays 'N/A' if you've not set up RDA
  • Last Communication at - The last time the company data synced.  Displays 'N/A' if you've not set up RDA
  • Site (Sage 50 Accounts v27) - if you're at a main or remote site

Company selection window

If you've set up RDA, a 'Remote Data Access' column appears in the Company Selection window when you open the software.

This shows either 'Online' or 'Offline' next to your company. If it's blank, you've not connected RDA.

TIP:

In Sage 50 Accounts v27, this is also where you can check if you're at a main or remote site.

Remote Data Access column shows Online.
