Remove a company from Remote Data Access completely
Description

Use the Remove From Remote Data Access option to remove a company from RDA if:

  • You no longer want to use RDA for that company
  • You’re experiencing issues with RDA
  • Sage 50 Accounts v27 only - You want to set up a different RDA main site

NOTE:

If you only need to remove RDA from one computer, use the disconnect from RDA article instead.

Resolution

Back up your data

Take a backup of your data before you begin.

Make a note of current Remote Data Access users

  1. Log into Sage as Manager.
  2. Go to Settings, then User Management, then Users.
  3. Note each users Sage account email address.

Remove RDA on the main computer

  1. Open Sage 50 Accounts to the Company Selection window.
  2. Click the three dots to the left of the relevant company.

  1. Choose Remove From Remote Data Access.

  2. Enter the Manager password, then click OK.
  3. Select Yes, then OK.

Follow these steps at the main site.

  1. Open Sage 50 Accounts to the Company Selection window.
  2. Select the three dots to the left of the relevant company.

  3. Choose Remove Remote Data Access.
  4. Enter the Manager password, then click OK.
  5. Select Yes, then OK.

To reinstate it:

  1. Log in to the software as normal.
  2. Go to Tools, Options, then Start up.
  3. Select the Show the Company List on start up checkbox.
  4. Close the software.

The Company Selection window appears when you open Sage 50 Accounts again.

If you can't log in to the software, you can delete the SAGE.INI file.

Remove RDA on other computers

To remove the company from Remote Data Access at other computers, follow the same steps in the Remove Remote Data Access section above.

To disconnect from this company from Remote Data Access at this site, follow the steps in Disconnect a remote site from Remote Data Access.

 

Next steps

If required, at any time you can set up Remote Data Access and allow users remote access again from within the User Management option.
