Upgrade Sage 50 Accounts v23 and below to v24

Check your system requirements

If you bought your computer in the last couple of years, it's likely your computer will meet the system requirements. However, if required, you, or your IT support, can check the recommended system requirements.

Check and back up your data

Before upgrading you should check your data to ensure there are no errors and take a backup. Repeat this for each company you have set up in Sage Accounts.

Download Sage 50 Accounts
  1. Log onto your computer as an administrator and close all software.
  2. Click the download link below. You will be prompted to log onto My Sage to access the download.

  3. Enter your My Sage login details, click Sign In, then click Download.
    Depending on your Internet browser, the file saves in your Downloads folder or you're prompted to save the file.
  4. If prompted to save the file, note the file name, browse to where you want to save it, then click Save.
Install your new software

If you use Sage Drive to share your accounts data, we recommend that you check which computer is your main site and upgrade this first.

Additional steps

If you store your Sage Accounts data on a computer which doesn't have a Sage Accounts installation, you must install the latest Sage Accounts data service:

  1. From the computer where your data is stored right-click the following download link:
    Sage 50 Accounts v24 data service
  2. Choose Save link as or Save target as, make a note of the file name.
  3. Browse to where you want to save the file, then click Save.
  4. Locate and double-click the downloaded file.
  5. If an Open File - Security Warning window appears, click Run.
  6. Select the I Accept the terms of the Licence Agreement check-box then click Next.
  7. Click Data service only or Repair then, once installed, click Close.
