Summary
Description
2-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Sage account. When you enter your username and password to log in, a prompt asks you for a six-digit verification code.
If you use a third-party authentication app, such as Microsoft authenticator or Google authenticator, continue to follow this article.
Resolution
Unless you use Sage Verify with notifications, ▼ a prompt appears for a six-digit code when you enter your Sage account login details.
Get the code
- Check the authentication method you selected when you set up 2FA for your six-digit code:
- Sage Verify - this app can create six-digit login codes. If you set up 2FA with Sage Verify but you didn't enable push notifications, open your app to view the code
- Third-party authenticator app - open your authenticator app to view the six-digit code
- Text message - you receive a new text message to your registered number with your six-digit code
- Phone call - you receive a phone call to your registered number. Answer the call to hear your six-digit code
- Enter your six-digit code to the log-in screen.
- Click Continue to log in.
If you're using a private device, you can select the Remember me on this device for 30 days option. This option prevents you from receiving a 2FA prompt for 30 days after you select it.
Difficulty authenticating
If you don't have access to your six-digit code, use your recovery key or backup method. For example, you've lost your phone, or you're not receiving codes.
