The 'Remember me' option is saved using cookies in your Internet browser. Your browser or cookie settings can stop this from working, which means you're still prompted to complete 2FA. If you find this feature isn't working correctly, check the following possible causes: Incognito Mode Do not use an incognito or private browsing window when you log in and select "Remember me." These modes don't save the required cookies.
Clearing browsing dataIf you clear browsing data from your Internet browser, this normally deletes all cookies. If you delete your cookies, the 2FA 'Remember me' setting is lost and you're prompted to complete 2FA on your next log in.
Automatic deletion settingsSome browsers offer the option to automatically delete browsing data, including cookies at regular intervals. If this is in use, whenever cookies are deleted, the 'Remember me' function is reset. Check your browser settings to see if this is set up. If it is, you would need to adjust these settings to use the 'Remember me' option. NOTE: For help to check this, visit the support guides for your browser or contact the provider.
Use the same browserCookies don't transfer between Internet browsers, so you need to log in with the browser you used when you selected 'Remember me'. For example, if you selected the option in Google Chrome, you're prompted to complete 2FA if you log in using Microsoft Edge.
Stick to one deviceUse the same device that you were using when you opted for Remember me. Switching devices will require you to complete 2FA again, as the cookie is saved on the device you originally used.
Don't share login detailsDon't share your username or password with others. This can cause the Remember me option not to work, as it's designed for individual use. You can find out more about this in our 2-factor authentication (2FA) for multi-user Sage accounts guide
