Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

We've resolved this issue in Sage 50 Accounts v30.1.

Description

This issue can occur when opening Sage 50 Accounts v30.0 or below. The Sage 50 Accounts Data Service stops, which means the application fails to open.

Resolution

We have now resolved this issue in v30.1 and above of Sage 50 Accounts. We recommend that you upgrade to the latest version to resolve this issue.

Upgrade your software

Upgrade now if you aren't using the latest version.

If you're unable to upgrade, follow the workaround below.

Complete the following steps on the computer or server, which holds your accounts data.

Before you start

Confirm if you're using a 32 or 64-bit version of Sage 50 Accounts.

Once you know your version:

  1. If using v30.0, download the relevant updated DLL below.
  1. Unzip the ServerLibXX.dll folder to your desktop.
  2. Stop all Sage services, which are running on the computer.
CAUTION: This includes all versions currently installed on the computer. For more information, use our article stop and restart the Sage data services
  3. Browse to the following directory in Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E) depending on your version.
    64-bit - C:\Program Files\Sage\AccountsServiceV30.
    32-bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\AccountsServiceV30.
  4. Copy the ServerLib.dll and Sage.UtilsLibV30.dll files from your desktop to the AccountsServiceV30 folder.
  5. Choose the option to Replace the file in the destination
  6. Restart the Sage services. For more information, use our article stop and restart the Sage data services.
  7. Log in to Sage 50 Accounts.

TIP: These steps are only mandatory on the computer that holds your data, however you can complete these steps on other computers if desired.

If the issue persists, follow the steps in the delete the Queue.dta file section.

Delete the Queue.dta file

Delete this on all computers with Sage 50 Accounts installed.  NOTE: You'll need to stop the Sage Accounts services before you delete the Queue.dta file.
