Error: 'Exception of type sage.accounts.startup.UI.helpers.sageidretryexception was thrown' when setting up Remote Data Access

This guide explains what to do if you receive this message in Sage 50 Accounts.

Description

When setting up Remote Data Access and assigning your Sage account to the manager user, the following message appears:

'Exception of type 'sage.accounts.startup.UI.helpers.sageidretryexception' was thrown.'

Resolution

This message appears if your software installation is damaged. To resolve this, you simply need to:

  1.  Uninstall Sage 50 Accounts on this computer.
  2. Then reinstall Sage 50 Accounts on this computer.

If the issue persists:

  1. Back up your data on the computer data was uploaded to Remote Data Access.
  2. At the Remote Data Access main site, the data owner must log in as manager.
  3. Remove the Remote Data Access from the user getting the error. 
  4. Edit the user to grant them Remote Data Access using a different email address.
  5. At the remote site, connect to the data using the new email address.
