An overview of the information you can record in a customer record in Sage 50 Accounts.
Description
Customer records save time for returning customers, help you manage cash flow, and keep customer information and activity in one place.
Resolution
Each customer has their own record, which stores contact details, discounts and payment terms. Sage 50 Accounts uses this information when you enter sales transactions and print documents, such as invoices and statements.
TIP:
You can create a customer record using this guide. To update multiple records, use Batch changes.
Each customer record holds the following information:
Details
This tab shows the customer's account reference, name and contact details. It also shows the status of any Direct Debit mandate you have for the customer.
If you use the charities features, this tab shows information relevant to donors, such as default fund, Gift Aid declaration information and membership details.
You can set up defaults for each customer, which are picked up automatically as you process transactions. This saves you time when entering information. For example, pricing and discounting, default nominal code and tax code, and if you useForeign Trader, currency.
Use the Bank tab to store customer bank details, so they're ready when you need to process a refund. Most of this information is for reference only and isn't used automatically.
Sage 50 Accounts v27 and above - You can add a custom alert for the customer that appears when you or a colleague selects the record during invoice or order processing. It's a simple and effective way to share important information and timely reminders.
Here you can keep track of communications between you and your customers, for example, letters and telephone calls, including keeping track of payments promised. You can also charge time for telephone calls made and generate service invoices to bill for your time.
