Before you install a software update, we recommend you complete a few quick checks to ensure your installation goes smoothly.

 NOTE: You must update your software, process your benefits and submit P11Ds to HMRC by 6 July 2024.

Activation details for a first time install

When you install a new version of Sage 50 P11D, you're prompted to enter your activation details before you can log in.

You can find these on your invoice, or use our online tool. Why not check these now and keep them safe, ready for when v29 is released. Find my serial number and activation key >


Check your system requirements

To ensure your software will run smoothly, check that your computer meets the system requirements for Sage 50 P11D >


Administrator access

When you install Sage 50 P11D, the installer needs administrator access to place all of the required files and folders correctly.

If your Windows username doesn't have this access level, your installation may fail.

Before you install or update your software, check you can log on to the computer as an administrator. Check if you're a Windows administrator >


New install directory

When you install v29, the installer automatically uses a location on your computer that's separate to previous versions. This allows you to install your update and still easily access data in the previous version.
