ERROR: 'An error has occurred while running the setup' during installation
Description

When you install Sage 50 P11D, sometimes the following error appears:

'An error (-5011 : 0x80040702) has occurred while running the setup.'

Windows update

We've identified that this issue occurs if you've installed Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.234.0.

This pack is part of the '2025-08 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5064081) (26100.5074)'. Microsoft released this on 29 August 2025.

If you've installed this update or any after it, the installation error above occurs.

We're continuing to investigate this issue.

Workaround

Contact your IT support to check if they can revert your computer to a compatible Windows upgrade. 

If your computer is on Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.197.0 and below, you can install Sage 50 P11D as normal.
