Download and install Sage 50 P11D v30
Description

The latest software update is now available, which you can use to calculate benefits for the 2024/2025 tax year.

Check your version number

Log in to your P11D software and click Help, then About. If your version number:

  • Is 30.00.069, your software is already up to date and you don't need to install an update
  • Begins with 29, continue to the download and install v30 steps below

Download and install v30

Follow our prepare to update Sage 50 P11D article, then follow the steps below to install Sage 50 P11D v30.

The steps below take you through how to install your update. This includes how to set whether your v30 data is on your computer or elsewhere, for example on a server.

  1. Close Sage 50 P11D and any other Sage software you have open on your computer.
  2. Click the link below:
  3. The update downloads to the Downloads folder on your computer automatically.
     NOTE: If you're prompted to select where to save this file, select the Downloads folder then click Save.
  4. On your keyboard, press the Windows key and R.
  5. Type Downloads then click OK.
  6. Right-click Sage50P11D_30069.exe and click Run as Administrator.
  7. To confirm you agree to the licence agreement and proceed, click Accept Licence.
  8. The installer sets the installation path on your computer for v30 automatically, click Next.
  9. You need to set the location of your P11D company data for v30 now:
    • If you store your data on your computer, click Next without making any changes
    • To use a server, create a new folder for your v30 data on the server then click Browse and browse to it, then click Next
  10. Click Next to begin the installation.

When your installation progress appears to be near completion, allow time for the installation to complete.

When the installation is complete, save any work you have open and restart your computer.

You've now installed v30 and are ready to move on to the next section, to prepare your activation details.

Activation details

When you first open your new version of Sage 50 P11D, you must enter your serial number and activation key to activate it.

If you don't have these to hand, you can find them with our find my serial number and activation key tool. 

 NOTE: Alternatively, log in to v29, click File then Upgrade Program and note the Serial Number and Current Key.

Keep these details to hand, ready for the steps below.

Transfer your data

Your next step is to move your P11D data from v29 to v30. If you don't have any existing data to transfer, visit our create a new P11D database article to get started.

As an alternative to the steps below, it's possible to backup your v29 data, then restore the backup in v30. To do this, follow our article to create a new P11D database in v30, then restore your v29 backup in v30.

Note your v29 data location

Take note of the path to your data in last years' software. You need to enter this path in the v30 data transfer wizard.

  1. Log in to Sage 50 P11D v29 as normal.
  2. Click File then Change Database Location.
  3. Note the path here, excluding 'P11D.MDB'.
     TIP: For example, if the path is c:\programdata\sage\sage 50 p11d\29.0\001\p11ddata\P11D.MDB, note c:\programdata\sage\sage 50 p11d\29.0\001\p11ddata\.
  4. Click Cancel to close this window.
  5. Before you close v29, take a backup of your P11D data. How to back up and restore your data.

Data transfer wizard

Follow the steps below to transfer your company data from v29 to v30. If you processed 2024/2025 benefits in v29, the steps below transfer this to v30.

  1. Open Sage 50 P11D v30.
  2. Enter your serial number and activation key and click Next.
  3. Select Upgrade Existing data, then click Next.
  4. Click Browse, and browse to the path you noted in the Note your v29 data location section.
  5. Double click P11D.MDB.
  6. Click Next, then Finish.
  7. The Upgrade Data wizard opens, click Next to start the upgrade.
  8. If you'd like to, you can click View the Upgrade log and Print this for your records.
  9. Click Finish to complete the data upgrade process.
  10. Click OK on the message that appears advising P11D needs to recalculate employees' figures.

You've set up your v30 software and it's ready to use.

Next steps

If you haven't already processed 24/25 benefits, process these as normal in v30 then process P11D year end.

If you processed 24/25 benefits in v29, your v30 software has recalculated your benefits 24/25 legislation. To continue the year end process, check your benefits and expenses are correct, then process P11D year end.
