Change my 2-factor authentication (2FA) recovery method
Description

When you set up a recovery method, you can use this alternative email address or phone number to reset your 2FA if needed or access a recovery code to log in.

If you need to change your recovery method, follow the steps below. For example, if you need to:

  • Change from using a recovery phone number to using an email address
  • Change the recovery email address to a different email address
  • Change the recovery phone number to a different phone number
Cause
Resolution
  1. Log in to account.sso.sage.com.
  2. If prompted, enter your 6-digit authentication code.

     TIP: If you can't authenticate you can use your recovery code. 
     

  3. Select 2-factor authentication.

  4. On the 2-factor authentication page, select Manage recovery method.

  5. Enter your Sage account login details and 2FA 6-digit code to authorise the change. 
  6. Select Change recovery method.
  7. Select your preferred recovery method. This allows you to access your account if you can't authenticate and have lost your recovery code.
    Select a recovery option. Add a recovery phone number or Add a recovery email address.

  8. Enter the new Email address or Phone number and select Continue
     NOTE: If you chose phone number, select whether you want to receive a text message or a phone call. 
  9. You'll receive a verification code to the new recovery method you selected.
  10. Enter the 6-digit code you receive on the new method, and select Continue
     TIP: If you don't receive a code after a few minutes, select Resend code.

You've successfully changed your recovery method. You can now use this recovery method when you're unable to authenticate using your 2FA device or recovery code.
