How to check the email addressWhen you start the migration, you are asked to enter a manager email address and password to begin the move. This email address becomes the main admin in Sage HR Online Services, who can see and do everything in your new portal, including being able to see all payslips. This email address mustn't be the same email address used for an employee to access their payslips. This is to avoid the main admin profile and an employee profile from merging, which is irreversible. You can check the email addresses used by logging in to Sage Employee Online Services via https://eol.sage.co.uk. If you notice an employee does have the same email address as a manager account, then please start the migration using a different manager account. TIP: If you don't have another manager account available to start the move you can either create a new one or delete the employee from Sage Employee Online Services and add them to Sage HR Online Services with a different email address later - Click here for more details >
What happens if I migrate without deleting leavers in Sage Employee Online Services? The migration will work fine without doing this, just be aware that when you later log in to Sage HR Online Services after the migration, any leavers that were listed in Sage Employee Online Services will show as active employees in Sage HR Online Services. To remove them as active employees you will need to 'terminate' them. For steps on how to do this in Sage HR Online Services, use our guide - Remove employees who have reappeared after updating Online Services. This is also explained in our 'After you move' guide.
What happens if I start the migration with an email address used by an employee? If this happens, the main admin profile and an employee's profile merge, which is irreversible. If this ends up occurring, please contact Sage 50 Payroll support so we can check and confirm any additional steps that need to be taken.
What happens if I migrate without notifying my employees?Notifying employees is just some best practice we recommend so that your employees are aware that there are going to change soon to the way they access their payslips. If you haven't done this yet, you can simply notify them after the migration using the suggested email template available in Step 3 - Notify your employees in our support hub.
What happens if I don't publish pending payslips? After you complete the migration, you can easily just upload those payslips again that were sat as pending before the move. TIP: Join one of our live webinars where a Sage expert shows you how uploading payslips to the new portal works, as well as answers any questions you have.
