Restart the computer that holds your data This resolves the issue usually, so try opening Sage 50 Accounts again. If the error still appears, or you're unable to restart the computer, continue to the next section. TIP: Not sure which computer holds your data? Use our Where is my data kept? guide. NOTE: If your computer is on a network, all Sage 50 Accounts users need to log out, then restart the computer that holds your data. Restart your computer We recommend you restart the computer you currently use, then try to open Sage 50 Accounts again. If the issue continues, move onto the next section. Check the status of the Sage data service - On the computer where your data is held, press the Windows key + R on your keyboard.
- Type services then press Enter on your keyboard.
- In the list of services, find the relevant Sage 50 Accounts Service version. You can use our Check your version number guide if you're unsure what this is.
NOTE: If the service is missing from the list, Download and install the Sage Accounts Data Service.
- Right-click the Sage 50 Accounts Service, and click Start. You can Check if you're a Windows administrator to do this.
NOTE: If the service is showing as Stopping, follow Sage Services stuck on the Stopping status to fix this.
- Right-click the Sage 50 Accounts Control, and click Start.
