Resolution

NOTE:

You can only create one financial budget but you can add extra financial years as required.

Add a financial year to your budget

When you want to create your budget for another financial year:

  1. Go to Settings, then Business settings.
  2. Select Financial Budgets.
  3. Go to Manage budget, then select Add financial year.
  4. Choose the financial year you want to add and select Next.
  5. Select how you want to fill in your budget.
▼ Which option do I choose?

The option you choose determines how you set up the budget.

    From a template spreadsheet:

Sage Accounting creates a blank budget to start with. You can then edit budget values for each ledger account within Accounting or export the blank budget and upload your figures.

    From a financial year:

This option allows you to use figures in a previous financial year and make adjustments. First, choose the financial year to base the budget on. Then set a percentage increase or decrease for each category: Sales, Other income, Direct expenses and Overheads.

After that, you can adjust budget values for each ledger in Accounting or export the budget and upload your adjusted figures.

  6. After choosing the option, select Create budget.

Use the dropdown at the top right to switch between budget periods.
