To let HMRC Know of changes to a previous tax year, you must submit a Supplementary FPS.
You can submit this after 19 April of the following tax year.
NOTE: You can submit changes only for a year originally processed in Sage Payroll. You can use HMRC's Basic Tools software to submit for other periods.
A supplementary FPS looks at the values contained in the last submitted FPS of the selected tax year. It then compares those values to how they look in the program now. If there’s a difference, Sage Payroll identifies this and a supplementary FPS needs to be submitted
Before you can submit a supplementary FPS, you must first make the required changes to the employees pay. This is done by Editing a pay run. For more information on this, read Correcting errors in previous tax years.
You can edit a pay run and submit a supplementary FPS as many times as needed
You can view the details and status of your previous Supplementary FPS
If the status shows as failed, hover over the error to display the full details. For more information, read Submission errors.
