To save you time when processing, we've put together some useful tips.

Show alternate row colours on employee list

To make things easier to find when you're working with a large list of employees in Sage 50 Payroll, you can add alternate colours to the employee list.

Hide, show or delete leavers

In Sage 50 Payroll, you can keep your data for up to three years prior to the current tax year, which over time can mean that the employee list gets longer and longer.

To avoid this, you can use the Criteria option to hide employees who are on hold, on holiday or have left your company.

Demonstration data

It's useful to see exactly what a feature does before you use it in your live company. That's why Sage 50 Payroll has a demo company called Stationery & Computer Mart UK where you can try out features and practice tasks without affecting your live data.

Delete old or overdue reminders

Sage 50 Payroll contains an events and reminders option, that includes a calendar.

There may be times when you need to delete overdue reminders.

Processed payroll with the wrong date

If you forgot to change your process date before you started running the payroll, don't worry, you can easily correct this using the Recover option. 

Correcting mistakes

There may be times when you need to go back to a certain point and start again, for example to correct a mistake. The Rollback feature is ideal for correcting mistakes that affect just one or a small number of employees.

Save time looking for reports

In Sage 50 Payroll, you can add the reports you use most often to your Favourites.

Once you've added your reports to Favourites, you can run them quickly from the Favourites folder, which is the default view when you open any of the report options. You can also run your reports from the Favourites menu at the top of your Sage 50 Payroll window.

Run all your reports at once

If you usually run a particular set of reports at a given time, instead of running each report individually, you can group a number of reports together as a Report Selection, and run all of the reports at once.
