Follow the steps below on all computers at the main site that have a copy of Sage 50 Accounts, plus the computer that holds your data.

Install the Data Service on your server
Sage 50 Accounts uses the Sage Accounts Data Service to control the flow of data. You must install this on the server.
TIP:If you don't have access to the server, you should contact your local IT Support.
- On the server computer, right-click the following download link:

Create and share a folder on your server
On your server create a folder to store your data and share the folder, giving other network users full control.
For example, create the following folders and share the SageData folder in the path below:

Create your company data
Having installed the software on your client computer, you need to create your company data.
- On the client computer, open Sage Accounts.
- In the ActiveSetup wizard click Create a new company, then click Change.
- Browse to or type the path to your Company.000 folder then click OK.
- Click Next then enter your software serial number, activation key and account number.
You can find these on your order confirmation email.
- Click Next, click OK and if a confirmation message appears click OK.
- To create your new company, follow the on-screen prompts.

Set up your data on the server
- On your server, open Sage 50 Accounts.
- In the ActiveSetup wizard select Set-up a new company, then click Next.
- Enter your software serial number, activation key and account number.
You can find these on your order confirmation email.
- Click Next, click OK and if a confirmation message appears click OK.
- Ensure the Share this folder for all users check box is selected.
- Make a note of the shared network path.
- Click Next then follow the on-screen prompts.
Connect client computers to your company
- On the client computer, open Sage Accounts.
- In the ActiveSetup wizard select Use an existing company stored on your network, then click Browse.
- Browse or type the path to your data as follows then click OK.

Register your software
When you open your software for the first time, the Active Setup wizard takes you through entering your activation details and setting up your company data.
You can find your activation details, which include your serial number, activation key and account reference, in your order confirmation email.

Install the Data Service on your server
Sage 50 Accounts uses the Sage Accounts Data Service to control the flow of data. You must install this on the server.
- On the server computer, right-click the following download link:
