Description
The software uses Remote Data Access, which enables you to:
- Stay connected from home, on the road or anywhere you like and work.
- Easily share live accounts data securely online, including with your accountant.
- Full control of the access rights so you can always rest assured that your data is safe and secure.

It's a good idea to check some basic information about your software now, these preparation tasks can only be completed at your main site where your accounts data is held:
How to work at home
If you need to work from home on Sage, there are two options:
- Restore a backup locally on your working from home computer or laptop >
- Connect to Remote Data Access or Sage Drive remotely >
NOTE: Another option is to get remote access to your work computer, but this must be organised by your IT.
Single users / local installation - Restore a backup
If you use Sage 50 Accounts on a single computer, with no network or Remote Data Access / Sage Drive connections then you can install the software on a computer or laptop at home, create a new company and restore a backup from your main installation.
You'll need to make a note of your serial number and activation key, in Sage 50 Accounts, click Help and then click About and they're listed under Licence information.
When you’ve finished working at home and return to the office, you can back up again and restore your working from home backup at your normal site.

Remote Data Access
With Sage 50 Accounts v27 and above, Remote Data Access can be used to connect to your accounts data from anywhere with an installation of the software and a reliable Internet connection, so you're no longer tied to the office when you want to work on your accounts. You can share a copy of your accounts data securely in the cloud. then you and your colleagues can access and update the data from remote locations using the Internet.
