Summary
An explanation of when to skip or miss a pay run, and how to do this in Sage Payroll.
Description
When you complete a pay run, Payroll moves on to the next pay period.
- For example, when you complete week 1, Payroll moves on to week 2
You can also skip pay runs by making a different pay run the current one.
- For example, you completed week 1. You could then make week 4 the current pay run.
You can also reuse an old pay calendar.
- For example, you run a weekly pay calendar but haven’t used it in some time. You'll need to skip the missed pay runs to come up to date.
Resolution

Skipping pay runs may 'finalise' P32 values
Skipping one or more pay runs can open a new P32 reporting period.
In this case, P32 values in the closed period are finalised.
You can still make corrections to the closed P32 reporting periods. These corrections don’t affect the finalised P32 values.
