In Sage 50 Accounts v27, the Remove Remote Data Access option makes it easy to disconnect a remote computer from a Remote Data Access company.
When would I need to do this?
- When you no longer want to access the company data remotely from a specific computer
- To re-sync the Remote Data Access connection by disconnecting and then reconnecting
- To reconnect to the correct or different dataset
- To reconnect to a company on Remote Data Access that had to be disconnected at the main site
NOTE: This doesn't disconnect the company from Remote Data Access, it only disconnects access to the company on the remote site you disconnect on. To completely disconnect the company, use our disconnect from Remote Data Access guide.
Resolution
Before you start
The steps below are for Sage 50 Accounts v27. If you're using Sage 50 Accounts v28 and above please follow the steps in our alternative guide.

- Open Sage 50 Accounts.
- On the Company Selection window, click the three dots to the left of the company you're disconnecting.
NOTE: If the Company Selection window doesn't appear, to reinstate it log into the software as normal then click Tools then click Options then Start up, select the Ask which data type.... check-box. You can now close the software and the Company Selection window appears when you open it again.
- Click Remove Remote Data Access.
NOTE: If this option isn't there, then this company dataset on this computer isn't on Remote Data Access. - Enter your logon name and password then click OK.
- Click Yes then click OK.
Next Steps
When you open Sage 50 Accounts, if you only had one company listed, the Active Setup wizard appears.
If the Active Setup doesn't appear, click Add Company in the Company Selection window to be presented with these setup options.
