When you first open Sage 50 Accounts v27 or above, the following window appears.
CLIENT MANAGER ONLY: If you're an accountant with Sage 50 Accounts Client Manager, there is also a new column for "Sage Accounting migration ready?".
TIP: If you can't see the Company Selection window when you open the software you can switch it on when logged into your company. To do this click Tools, then Options, then Start up, and click the Show the Company List on start up check box then click OK.
The Company Selection window optionsThe Company Selection window lists all of your available companies, including Demodata and Practice Data. It is used to manage multiple companies and contains functions for adding and removing companies. Depending on your software version and if you use Remote Data Access, not all options may be available. Company information > Company name | Displays the name of the relevant company. | Version | Displays the version of the software the data was last used in. | VAT No. | Displays the VAT number for the relevant company. | MTD for VAT | Displays if the company has the Making Tax Digital (MTD) for VAT features activated. | Financial year | Displays the current financial year start date for your company. | Remote Data Access | Identifies if this company data is synced to the cloud using Remote data access. | Sage account (previously Sage ID) | If a company is accessed using Remote data access, this column shows the Sage account used to access the data. | Data path | Displays the location of the data files. | Sage Accounting migration ready? | Sage 50 Accounts Client Manager only
Indicates whether the company is ready to be migrated to Sage Accounting. | Company list options > Add Company | Opens the ActiveSetup wizard for adding a company to the list or creating a new company. | Print | Prints the information from the Select Company window. | Export | Exports your company list to Microsoft Excel. | Hide company list on start-up | If you only use one company, you can hide this window by selecting this check box. | Individual company options > The individual company options appear when you click on the three dots to the left of the company name:
Depending on you company and what is set up you may get the following options: Folder location | Opens the folder location of the company that is selected in the list. | Resume live sync | If you have paused Remote Data Access you will have the option to Resume live sync. | Resolve | This will appear if there is a problem within your data. | Disconnect From Remote Data Access | Sage 50 Accounts v28 and above only If you select a company that has Remote Data Access enabled, this option appears. When you disconnect, the data remains available to other sites using Remote Data Access, however, what happens to the data on your computer/server, depends on whether you logon as the MANAGER or not. Read more > | Remove From Remote Data Access (previously Remove Remote Data Access) | If you select a company that has Remote Data Access enabled, this option appears. Sage 50 Accounts v28 and above - this removes the company from the Remote Data Access service. Sage 50 Accountsv27 and below - on the Remote Data Access main site, this option removes the company from the Remote Data Access service, at a remote site, this option disconnects you from the selected company.
