Resolution | Before you start - If you use Remote Data Access you need to know your Sage account email, password and Remote Data Access passphrase
- Check you're logged on to your computer as a Windows administrator
- Ensure you have a note of which software version you're using
TIP: If you didn't check your version before uninstalling, press the Windows key + E, then browse to C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts. Here you can check the latest version you have data for. For example, if you can see a 2024 folder, you were using v30.
Download and install your softwareWatch the video or follow the steps below. - On your new computer, close all software then download the relevant software version.
- To begin the installation, locate and double-click the downloaded file, for example,
Sage50Accounts_v30.0.171.0.exe TIP: To view your Downloads folder, press Ctrl + J on your keyboard while you have your web browser open. - If prompted, click Yes to allow this app to make changes to your device.
- Select the I accept the terms of the Licence Agreement check box and click Next.
- Click the Standard (recommended) installation type and click Yes, begin installation.
- Once complete, the software checks for any updates, if prompted click Install then click Yes, begin installation.
- If prompted to restart your computer, click Restart now.
- If not prompted to restart, to complete the install, click Close, then click Close again.
Open your software When uninstalling Sage 50 Accounts, it doesn't remove your accounts data files. This means after reinstalling you can open your software and continue as normal, without the need to reconnect to data. If you performed a full uninstall to remove all files and you deleted your data files, when you open the software you're prompted to enter your serial number, activation key and if required your account number. Once this is done, you have the following options to add a company. choose the option you'd like to use below to find out more: [BCB:348:UKI - Connected Service Warning:ECB] - Click Restore, then click Browse, locate and select your backup, click Open.
- If you want to change the location of where your data is held, update the path under Your company data will be created in the following location.
- Click Continue, then click Restore.
- Enter your Logon name and Password then click OK.
If your data is from an older version you're prompted to update the data. You're now ready to start using your software again. We recommend you now run the Check Data option. Connect to data on my network > - On the client computer, open the software.
- In the Add a Company window click Connect - Open a company from a network location.
- Under Company data location click Change or Browse and find the path of your data, for example \\servername\shared folder name\Company.000 then click Continue.
- In the Activate program window either enter your Serial number, Account number and Activation key, or check the current registration details are correct.
- Click Next then click Connect.
- When prompted enter your Logon name and Password.
You're now readt to start using your software again. We recommend you now run the Check data option. Connect to data using Remote Data Access > - Click Download.
- If you want to change the location of where your data is held, update the path under Your company data will be created in the following location.
- Click Continue, then click OK.
- Enter your Sage account email address and password, then click Log in.
- If prompted, enter the Captcha text then click Continue.
- Select the company data you want to connect to, then click Next.
- Enter the Remote Data Access Passphrase for the shared data, click Connect then log in to the company.
You're now ready to start using your software again. We recommend you now run the Check Data option.
