Have you connected your data to Remote Data Access (RDA)?

Before you can give other users access to the company data remotely, you need to connect the data to Remote Data Access

  1. Go to Help then About in your software.
  2. Check the Remote Data Access option under Features Enabled.

If you see No, you need to set up Remote Data Access before you can continue.


Create a new user with remote access

 TIP: You can edit an existing user to your data remotely rather than create a new user.

  1. Open Sage 50 Accounts and log in as MANAGER.
  2. Go to Settings then select User Management then Users.
  3. Select New then select the user type you require.

  1. Select Continue, then enter the required information: 

Username

Each user must create a username. This can be a combination of upper or lower case characters, spaces or numbers.

Password not required

Standard users only. Select this option to remove the password requirement.  

Require password change at next login

The user can change their password when they log in to this company.

Create Password / Confirm Password

Enter and confirm a password for the user.  These fields don't appear if you selected the Password not required checkbox. 

  TIP: Users can manage their own password in User Management. If they forget their password, the manager or administrator user can change it.

  1. Select Continue then select the checkboxes to the areas the user can access and select Continue.

NOTE: This window doesn't apply to administrator users as they have full access by default.

  1. Select the Allow Remote Data Access check box.
  2. Enter the user details then click Continue.
  3. Check the User Summary, click Save, then click Close.
  4. If prompted, log in to your Sage Account and enter the verification code.

Next steps - contact your user

Now you've granted your user access to your data remotely, they'll receive an email invitation to access the company.

What they'll need:

    • Your Sage 50 Accounts version number - They must install this version to access the data
      TIP: You can find this in Help then About in your software.
    • Sage account - The user needs a Sage account using the email address in step 8 above
    • The passphrase for your data - this is the password used when you originally uploaded the data
    • The username and password you set up for them to access Sage 50 Accounts
