DRAFT Practice data in Sage 50 Accounts
Description

Sage 50 Accounts includes two extra companies you can use to test features and practice tasks without affecting your live data. You can save and reopen your practice work, or delete it and start again.

Cause
Resolution

Open Practice Data

  1. If you're in a company, go to File, then Open, then Open Practice Data.
  2. Choose the option to either use my data or use blank data.
▼ Use my data 
  1. Press Browse and locate your backup to restore.
  2. Press Open on the window and press Continue on the Practice data window.
  3. Press Restore, enter your password for the data, then press Log on.

You'll now see a yellow banner at the top of your window, which states that you're in the Practice company.

NOTE:

You can't back up from the Practice Data and restore to your company data.


▼ Use blank data  
  1. Choose your locale, for example, UK.
  2. Press Continue.

You'll now see a yellow banner at the top of your window, which states that you're in the Practice company. 


Discard information entered on a blank company

  1. Go to File, then Open, then Open Practice Data.
  2. Deselect the checkbox to continue practising from where you left off last time, then press Continue.

You'll now see a yellow banner at the top of your window, which states that you're in the Practice company.


Navigation

To move between your company data, Practice Data and Demonstration Data

  1. Go to File, then Open, and choose the required option.
