Nothing happens after I select companies during P11D/P11D(b) submission

Summary

What to do if your submission window doesn't open after you select the companies to submit in Sage 50 P11D v28.

Description

When you click Internet Submissions then Submit P11D/P11D(b), a window opens for you to select the companies you'd like to submit.

If you select the companies then click Continue and nothing happens, follow the steps below.

Resolution

Reinstall Sage 50 P11D into a new directory

You don't need to uninstall your current installation of v28. Instead, install the latest version into a new folder. This ensures all files are created correctly.

Follow the steps below to complete your new installation.

Take a backup of your data

You must take a backup of your data first. After you install your software into a new directory later in this process, you need to restore this backup to set up your company data. 

  1. Log in to your existing installation of Sage 50 P11D for the 2022/2023 tax year.
  2. Click File, then Backup.
  3. Click Next, then Next.
  4. If you'd like to change where the backup will save, click Browse and browse to the required location then click Save.
  5. Click Next then Finish.
  6. Click OK when the backup completes.

Note your activation details

You need to activate your new installation later in this process. Note your activation details from your current installation.

  1. Click File, then Upgrade Program.
  2. Note your Serial Number and Current Key.
  3. Click Cancel to close this window.

Download Sage 50 P11D v28

  1. Close Sage 50 P11D and any other Sage software you have open on your computer.
  2. Click the link below:
  3. The update normally downloads to the Downloads folder on your computer automatically.
     NOTE: If you're prompted to select where to save this file, select an easy to find location, such as your Windows Desktop. 

Install Sage 50 P11D v28 into a new folder

Ensure you use the Run as administrator option in Step 3.

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows key and R.
  2. Type Downloads then click OK.
     NOTE: If you saved the installation file to another folder on your computer, browse to this location instead. 
  3. Right-click Sage50P11D_2801004.exe and click Run as Administrator.
  4. To confirm you agree to the licence agreement and proceed, click Accept Licence.
  5. Click the Browse button.
  6. Enter a new installation folder path in the Path field. This folder name must not already exist.
     NOTE: For example, C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 P11D\28.1 New
  7. Click OK then Next.
  8. Click Next then click Next again to begin the installation.

When your installation progress appears to be near completion, allow time for the installation to complete.

When the installation is complete we recommend you restart your computer. 


Refresh Microsoft .Net framework and reinstall

If the issue persists, the next step is to refresh Microsoft .net framework, then reinstall. We recommend you consult your IT support to refresh .NET.

Reinstall

Next, reinstall your software over the update you installed to the 28.1 New folder in the Install Sage 50 P11D v28 into a new folder steps above.

Ensure you use the Run as administrator option in Step 3.

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows key and R.
  2. Type Downloads then click OK.
     NOTE: If you saved the installation file to another folder on your computer, browse to this location instead.
  3. Right-click Sage50P11D_2801004.exe and click Run as Administrator.
  4. To confirm you agree to the licence agreement and proceed, click Accept Licence.
  5. Click the Browse button.
  6. Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 P11D\28.1 New in the Path field.
  7. Click OK then Next.
  8. Click Next then click Next again to begin the installation.

When your installation progress appears to be near completion, allow time for the installation to complete.

When the installation is complete we recommend you restart your computer.
