Summary

How to create sales quick entries in Sage Accounting.

Description

Save time by creating multiple sales invoices or credit notes in a single back using quick entries. This is useful when you need to enter high volumes of transactions with minimal detail.

You create quick entry invoices and credit notes using the same process.

NOTE:

You can't email quick entries directly from Sage Accounting.

Resolution

  1. Go to Sales and then Quick entries.
  2. Select New Quick Entry.
  3. Fill in the following information:
Type* From the dropdown list, choose between Invoice and Cr Note.
    Date* Enter the transaction date.
    Customer* Choose the customer.
Reference* Enter a reference, for example, an invoice number from another system.
Ledger Account* Choose the ledger account you want to use for this transaction.
Details If necessary, you can enter additional information about the invoice or credit note.
    Net

Enter the net amount of the invoice or credit note. If you're unsure of the Net value, enter the VAT Rate and Total instead. We’ll calculate the Net and VAT for you.

    TIP:

The Net, VAT Rate and VAT columns only appear when you select a VAT scheme under Accounting dates and VAT.

VAT Rate Choose the required VAT rate.
VAT The system automatically calculates the VAT value based on the Net and VAT Rate.
Total Sage Accounting automatically calculates the total value of the invoice or credit note.
    * These details are compulsory

    TIP:

If you've created analysis types, you can also choose these when creating the quick entry.

  4. Repeat the process again on the next line to add another invoice or credit note.
  5. After entering all your transactions, select Save.

NOTE:

Quick entries don't support reverse charge, foreign currency or CIS transactions.
