Understand what the Nominal Activity report shows in Sage Accounting. It helps you review ledger activity, balances, and transaction details for a selected period.

Description

The Nominal Activity report shows transactions and balances for each ledger account. You can use it to review activity behind your Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, and Trial Balance reports.

You can open the report directly from Reports, or by drilling down from:

  • Balance Sheet
  • Profit and Loss
  • Trial Balance

The report displays:

  • Opening and closing balances
  • Debit and credit values
  • Transaction references and descriptions
  • Running totals

The Customisable version of the report includes more features. It allows you to:

  • Choose from three default views
  • Set flexible date ranges
  • Compare previous periods or years
  • Show variances by amount or percentage
  • Display cumulative balances
