Description

How to migrate date from Sage 50 or Instant Accounts to Sage Accounting.

  • If your Accountant uses Accounting Partner Edition, they can complete the migration for you in just a few steps
  • Alternatively, import your customer, supplier and product records and opening balances yourself

You can't restore a backup of Sage 50 or Instant Accounts data.

Resolution

Migrate yourself

  1. Prepare your data.
Before migrating you need to decide on the date to migrate your data, and make sure your data is up to date before migrating and take a backup.
  2. Download the Switching reports backup to help you import your data to Sage Accounting.
These reports help to make sure your data is in the correct format before importing.
  3. Export your data from Sage 50 or Instant Accounts.
Export your customers, suppliers, product records as CSV files. You also export opening balances for your customers and suppliers.
If you want to use the same chart of accounts, you must import this from a CSV file before making any other changes in Sage Accounting.
  4. Check your settings in Sage Accounting.
Make sure Sage Accounting is set up correctly before you import your data.
  5. Import data into Sage Accounting.
Import the CSV files exported from Sage 50.
  6. Check your imported data.
