How to install the Sage 50 Accounts data service on the computer that holds your data.
Description
If you've upgraded your Sage 50 Accounts, you can see a prompt to update the data service on the computer that holds your data.
Resolution
There are two ways to update:
Update using the Sage Data Service Manager
- Move to the computer that holds your data. This could be your server or another computer on your network.
NOTE: If you're not sure which computer this is, contact your local IT support. After installing the update, restarting your computer is recommened. - Go to your Windows Search, type Sage 50 Data Service Manager, then select it.
- In the Server and version tab, select Install now.
If you don't see the Install now option, do this manually following the steps below.
Install the update manually
- Move to the computer that holds your data.
- Select the relevant link depending on the version in the error message:
- Sage Accounts v32.1 and above (64-bit) - Download and install the full software, then choose to install the Data Service only.
- Sage Accounts v32.0 (64-bit) - SageAccounts_v32.0_Dataservice_64bit.exe
- Sage Accounts v31.1 (64-bit) - SageAccounts_v31.1_Dataservice_64bit.exe
- Sage Accounts v31.1 (32-bit) - Sage50Accounts_v31.1_Dataservice_32bit.exe
- v30.1 64-bit - Sage50Accounts_30.1.343.0_Dataservice_64bit.exe
- v30.1 32-bit - Sage50Accounts_30.1.343.0_Dataservice_32bit.exe
- v29 - Sage 50 Accounts v29 - Data Service
- v28 - Sage 50 Accounts v28 - Data Service
- v27 - Sage 50 Accounts v27 - Data Service
- v26 - Sage 50 Accounts v26 - Data Service
- If prompted to save the file, note the file name then select Save.
Depending on your web browser, the file can automatically save to your Downloads folder. To view your Downloads folder, press Ctrl + J on your keyboard. - Browse to and double-click the file downloaded, then follow the on-screen prompts.
