Identify the computer where your data is held To use the Sage 50 Data Service Manager v31 you first have to identify the name of the computer or the server address of where your data is held. Visit Where is my data kept? to learn more about this. Once you've got the data location, continue to the next section. Run the Sage Data Service Manager - Click Start then in your program list click Sage Accounts.
- Click Sage 50 Data Service Manager v31.
- In the Server: box, enter your data location. If this is a server address, you must not include leading slashes. For example if the address is \\sageserver, enter sageserver.
NOTE: If your data's stored on your C:\ drive, you can enter localhost. - Click Connect.
 Stop and restart the data service After connecting to your data location as detailed above: - Click the Data Service Manager tab then either:
- Click Start Service to start the data service
- Click Stop Service to stop the data service
CAUTION: Make sure you've closed your Sage 50 Accounts program before selecting either of these options. Clear your licence held in the data service The data service also stores your licence details so they can be shared across you client computers. If required, you can clear these details and also prevent them being shared from the server. - Click the Data Service Manager tab then either:
- Click Clear Licence to clear your licence details from the data service. This does not clear the licence on your client computers, it just clears the details on the data service
- Select the Prevent a licence being copied from server check box to stop the licence being shared across your client computers
Clear users (Queue.dta) If you're having issues accessing your company data, deleting the Queue.dta file often fixes this. - Click the Data Service Manager tab.
- Click Stop Service.
- Click Get Companies.
- Click the relevant company in the list.
- Click Clear Users.
 - On the Queue file deletion prompt, click Yes.
NOTE: All users need to be logged out of Sage 50 Accounts before you continue. - Click OK.
- Click Start Service.
- Open Sage 50 Accounts and log in to your company as usual.
