Automatic data entry
With AutoEntry you never have to manually enter invoices or receipts again. Capture and analyse scanned and photographed paper documents, which then automatically enters data into your accounting software. This could save you potentially hours of your valuable time. It really is that simple.
Bank Feeds
Bank reconciliation can often be a long and tedious task. Bank Feeds is a feature that integrates with your live bank account to ensure everything in it is reflected in Sage 50 Accounts. It downloads your transactions, which you can then match to existing transactions in Sage 50 Accounts, or create new ones that haven’t been recorded yet. Not only this but you can set up rules so Bank feeds can automatically match transactions for you when certain criteria are met.
This reduces the time you spend entering transactions, simplifies your bank reconciliation, and ensures your accounts are up to date and accurate.
Schedule backups
Using Backup Manager function you can schedule backups to run automatically, and you can still work in Sage Accounts while your backups are running. This saves you time manually taking backups of your accounts data and means you don’t have to worry about remembering to do it. You don't even need to have Sage Accounts open!
In addition, you can even integrate your Sage 50 Accounts software with Microsoft 365 so that your data is scheduled to back up to the cloud via OneDrive, and you can be notified if there are any issues with the data.
Memorise, Recall and Recurring Items
If you have entries that you post regularly, such as month end accounting journals or recurring invoices or orders, the Memorise and Recall option is a great feature to save you time. Simply enter the information once, save the details, then use those details again later when required. You can even set up items to post automatically when you run the Recurring items option.
Supplier Payments
When making payments in Sage 50 Accounts, you can use Supplier Payments to directly pay your suppliers from your Sage software, so there is no need to re-key any data, or spend time manually downloading and uploading files if you use e–payments.
Foreign Trader
If your business trades in different currencies it can be time consuming to figure out manual calculations, such as working out exchange rates. There is also the high risk of miscalculations when you try to work it out manually. In Sage 50 Accounts, the Foreign Trader option makes this easy to do.
You can set up customers, suppliers and bank records to use other currencies, meaning you can enter payments and receipts in those currencies without the need for any manual calculations. You can also create customer and supplier documents such as invoices, orders and statements in the relevant currencies.
Batch changes
Sometimes you may want to make the same changes to multiple records in Sage 50 Accounts. For example, you might want to set the same default tax code on multiple customer records, or assign a group of products to a particular stock category. You can use the ‘batch changes’ option to select multiple records and make the required changes to all of them at the same time. A much more efficient way than editing items one by one.
Emailing invoices directly from Sage 50 Accounts
Rather than spend time manually creating invoice layouts to attach to an email and send via your email provider, you can save time by sending reports and layouts by email directly from Sage. You can integrate your Sage 50 Accounts with the email service you use, then you can select an invoice in Sage, automatically produce an invoice layout with the correct information, and send it directly to the customer linked with that that invoice.
Opayo (formerly Sage Pay) button on invoices
When you send invoices, statements and letters to your customers you can use Opayo to include a Pay Now button. Your customers can click Pay Now to make an immediate card payment using Opayo. This helps speed up the payment process and helps with your cashflow.
Filters
Sometimes you may only want to see a list of records that meet a certain condition. For example, showing customers who have been invoiced after a certain date, or suppliers with a balance on their account. Rather than trying look for a report, or manually going through each record, you can apply filters to restrict which records appear in all of the modules (except Bank), to help you locate information quicker. In addition, when using filters you can produce a report that only shows the information shown after the filter is applied.
Payroll nominal link
If you also use Sage 50 Payroll you can save time by using the nominal link to automatically post your salary journals from Sage 50 Payroll to Sage 50 Accounts. This saves you time from having to manually enter any journals in your Sage Accounts software.
TIP: If you don’t use Sage 50 Payroll to process your payroll, and are interested in finding out out more, submit your details and we’ll be in touch.
GoCardless
You can integrate Sage 50 Accounts with GoCardless to take payment from your customers using Direct Debit. The advantage of using this Direct Debit function is that it saves you time chasing payments from customers, and these payments are automatically processed in your accounts when GoCardless is integrated with Sage 50 Accounts.
