MTD - Blank screen when submitting a VAT Return

When you attempt to submit a VAT Return for Making Tax Digital (MTD), a blank screen may appear on the HMRC online service. A similar issue occurs where the window shows as loading for a protracted period of time.



NOTE: This issue is resolved in v26 and above. Update to the latest version.

If you're using version 25 or below, to resolve the issue follow the steps below:

  1. Close and re-open Sage Accounts, re-open the reconciled VAT Return.
  2. Try to submit the VAT Return again.

    If the problem persists continue, close Sage Accounts again, but re-open Sage by right clicking on the Sage icon on your desktop, then click Run as adminstrator. Try to submit the VAT return again.
