After attempting to upgrade, when you open your software, in the Select company window the Company name can show as:
'Data service unavailable on this machine'.
If you then open the company, you get the message:

This is because only the data service for the new version of Sage 50 Accounts has been installed. When you open your software, you're still using an earlier version.
To resolve this, you need to uninstall the data service, then re-install the software. Let's do this now.

NOTE: If you've already downloaded the Sage 50 Accounts installation file, skip to Uninstall Sage 50 Accounts data service.
NOTE: Depending on your web browser, the file may save to your Downloads folder automatically. To view your Downloads folder, press Ctrl + J on your keyboard. If the issue persists, follow the steps in our 'It is not possible to contact the Sage 50 Accounts Service.' article.
