When opening Sage 50 Accounts on an RDA remote site, you can get the following message:
'Your installation of Sage Accounts has been upgraded to version vXX, but the company data on Remote Data Access is on an earlier version. Before you can access this company, on your main site you must upgrade Sage Accounts to version 'localVersion', and then convert the data'.
This means that you've upgraded your Sage 50 Accounts from v27.1 or below to a newer version than the data on RDA. To fix this and access the company, you or a colleague need to convert the data to the newer version at the main site.
NOTE: Follow our alternative article if you see the message: 'For security reasons you must occasionally re-enter the Sage ID login details for Remote Data Access'.
To check if you're at the main site:
| N/A | You're not currently using Remote Data Access for this company. |
|---|---|
| Main | Remote Data Access shares your data and you’re the main site. |
| Remote | Remote Data Access shares your data and you’re a remote site. |
At the main site, make sure it’s the version mentioned in the message. If it isn’t, download and install the version of Sage 50 Accounts mentioned in the message.
Once the main site is using the same version in the message, ensure you convert the data to that version. Company data doesn’t convert until you open the company on that version. Log in to your company and convert the data when prompted, if the data is an older version.
At the main site for the company you're trying to access, open the company and select Yes to convert your data.
NOTE: If you're at the main site and see a message to update data, reset Remote Data Access. This is even if your software and data are the same version.
Once you've converted your data at your main site, you can now open the company at the remote site.
If the main site and the data match the version in the message, and the error continues at the remote site, disconnect the remote site. You can then connect the remote site computer to RDA.
