Single user installations of Sage 50 Accounts are normally self contained on one computer. However, if you're installing for the first time and you need to install Sage 50 Accounts on one computer but store your data on a separate server, you can follow the steps below. If you're not familiar with sharing folders and copying and pasting folders on a network, you may want to refer to your IT support for assistance.
To make sure the download and install process runs smoothly, we recommend you check the following before you start.
Before you install, please ensure you're logged on to your computer as an administrator.
Sage 50 Accounts uses the Sage Accounts Data Service to control the flow of data. You must install this on the server.
If you don't have access to the server, you should contact your local IT Support.
On your server create a folder to store your data and share a folder, giving other network users full control.
For example, create the following folders and share the SageData folder in the path below:
