The types of reports that the Report Design service can't create for Sage 50 Accounts.

Description

It's not possible for the Report Design Service to create certain reports in Sage 50 Accounts.

Before logging a request, check the list below to confirm whether Sage 50 Accounts supports the report you need.

Reports we can't modify or create

▼ Chart of Accounts / Management reports

We can't change any management reports or reports based on the Chart of Accounts, including:

Profit & Loss (all variations)
Balance sheet (all variations)
Trial balance (all variations)
Budget report
Statement of Financial Activities
Income & Expenditure (Charities)

These reports are essential for financial compliance and accuracy.

You can download and install Excel Management Workbooks from the Microsoft Excel support hub.

▼ CIS - Reports or Invoices / Statement layouts involving CIS, CIS deductions, retention values or custom calculations

We can’t create these reports or layouts because most information isn’t available until you submit the CIS Return.

▼ Compliance-sensitive reports

To ensure compliance and data integrity, we can't create or amend the following reports:

Intrastat reports
OSS IOSS VAT reports
Self-Billing invoices
CIS Payments
CIS Contractor Monthly Return
BACS / Bank uploads

▼ Customer and Supplier communications history on a Customer or Supplier report

Sage 50 Accounts doesn’t link Customer or Supplier communications history to records or activity data.

In the Customer or Supplier record, use the Print List and Send to Excel options.

▼ Excel Report Workbooks

We can’t create custom Excel Report Workbooks. You can download and install a collection of Excel Management Report Workbooks from the Microsoft Excel support hub.

▼ Fixed Assets depreciation history

As there's no link between Fixed Asset data and ledger transaction data, we can only create reports using Fixed Asset record information.

▼ Invoice or Order item line data combined with ledger activity

We can't link invoice or order item line data with ledger transaction data in the following reports or layouts:

Customer
Supplier
Project
Nominal

▼ Invoice Profit values based on actual cost

We can't create these because no link exists between the Invoice data and the Stock transaction cost price data.

▼ Invoice or Invoice Item paid status

We can't create these because no link exists between the invoice data and the ledger transaction-paid data.

▼ Product Price list reports

The Price List reports are designed to handle the complex product price list data they use.

▼ Product Retrospective Valuation when your select Allow Negative Stock

Allowing negative stock can cause the figures on the Retrospective Product Valuation to appear incorrect. This is due to the cost prices the software uses for GO transactions. ▼ Product Retrospective Valuation when the Clear Stock option has been run

Running the Clear Stock option can result in the figures on the Retrospective Product Valuation becoming incorrect. See our Retrospective Product Valuation - Reasons why the figures can appear to be incorrect article for more information.

▼ Project reports incorporating Child Projects

We can't create these because no link exists between the tables required to produce this type of report.

▼ Project reports with additional criteria

Project reports can only use project reference and date criteria. This is because item line information on project reports uses multiple tables and variables.

▼ Purchase Order report showing the invoiced value of goods received (from a Goods Received Note)

You can’t report retrospectively on goods received where there are part‑delivered orders. This is even though the required tables link.

▼ Purchase Order combined with Sales Order information

We can't create these because no link exists between Sales Order and Purchase Order data.

▼ Recurring Invoice, Sales Order and Purchase Order reports

The data tables required aren’t accessible within Report Designer.

▼ Stock / Stock activity combined with ledger activity

These reports or layouts don't link the Product record or activity data and the ledger transaction data:

Customer
Supplier
Nominal

▼ Sub Reports or Drill Down reports

We can’t create reports creating Sub Reports or Drill Down reports due to testing limitations in live environments.
