How to resolve this in Sage 50 Accounts.
This message appears when you try to access an exclusive zone in Sage 50 Accounts and other users are, or appear to be, logged in.
NOTE: An exclusive zone is an area in Sage 50 Accounts that require all other users to log out of the company, for example backing up or running Check Data. 
You cannot access <> because <> is logged in on machine <>.
Confirm if other users are logged in.
If other users are logged in
Log all users out of Sage Accounts on all computers including all Remote Data Access or Sage Drive remote users, then try and access the required option again.
TIP: If you have purchased a network version of Sage 50 Accounts but get this message when more than one user tries to log in at the same time, you must check you have entered the latest serial number and activation key on each computer - Read more >
If no other users appear to be logged in
You need to try and log in as the MANAGER user:
If you can log on as MANAGER - Click here >
v27 and above
- Log on as MANAGER.
- On the menu bar click Settings.
- Click User Management, then Active Sessions.
- Select a user except for MANAGER, then click Remove then click Yes.
- Repeat step 4 until MANAGER is the only on the list, then click Close.
NOTE: If you remove users, we recommend that you run a check data. If any errors are reported, please refer to My data.
- Try and access the required option again.
v26 and below
- Log on as MANAGER.
- On the menu bar click View, then click User List.
- Select a user except for MANAGER, then click Remove then click Yes.
- Repeat step 3 until MANAGER is the only on the list, then click Close.
NOTE: If you remove users, we recommend that you run a check data. If any errors are reported, please refer to My data.
- Try and access the required option again.
If you can't log on as MANAGER - Click here >
- Log on using the username mentioned in the error message.
- When prompted, click Close session or Yes, then close out of Sage Accounts.
- Now log on and try and access the required option again.
- If you receive the error message for a different username, repeat steps 1-3 until you get access.
NOTE: It's likely that you've received this message because Sage Accounts has previously closed unexpectedly. we recommend that you run a check data. If any errors are reported, please refer to My data.
