Summary

How to repair and compact your data in Sage 50 Payroll.

Description

You can use the repair and compact options in Sage 50 Payroll to compact the size of your database and to reduce the size of your backups. This routine also helps to tidy up your data and resolve and prevent data corruption. We recommend running the routine once a month.

You can also use the repair procedure if Sage 50 Payroll can't read your employee database. For example, if you're processing your payroll and an error message appears.

Examples of error messages:

  • Cannot connect to Database
  • Failed to Update
  • Pay5

The Repair option repairs and compacts the data. You don't need to run the Compact procedure separately.
