Summary
How to delete bank transactions in Sage Accounting. This helps you correct mistakes and keep your bank balance accurate.
Description
You can delete most bank transactions, including cleared and reconciled transactions.
There are some exceptions:
- You can't delete bank transfers or deposits. Reverse the bank transfer or deposit.
- You can't delete transactions included in a draft or submitted VAT Return. Correct transactions included on a VAT Return.
When you delete a transaction, Sage Accounting removes it from your bank account and updates your balance.
When you delete a reconciled transaction:
- It shows as Removed from reconciliation
- Sage Accounting updates the starting balance for your next reconciliation
- Sage Accounting doesn't change the reconciled balance
This behaviour keeps your reconciliation history accurate while reflecting the correction.
