When you import Tax Categories for Making Tax Digital, you can see import errors. 

The import template has two columns, which are:

• Nominal code
• Income Tax category

These occur if either the nominal code isn't in the correct range or doesn't exist in the Chart of Accounts.

Check the errors

1. Select the Find out more about import errors link.

• Nominal code xxxx has invalid Income Tax category xx - nominal code not in the correct range in the Chart of Accounts 
• Nominal code xxxx is invalid for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax - the nominal code doesn't exist in the Chart of Accounts

2. Select OK on the Import tax category import errors window.

Resolve the errors

Edit the chart of accounts to add in the missing codes or edit the ranges.
