Manage account access
Description

We've already granted cloud connection permission to all users who previously connected via the Manager username. If you see unexpected users with this permission you can revoke their access by following the steps below, if required.

Only users who connect via the Manager username need portal permission. You don't need to add users to the portal if they download the company via Remote Data Access (RDA).

Resolution

Our new online portal manages ownership and permission to connect data to our cloud services.

Accessing the portal

From your Sage 50 Accounts software:

Authorise users to connect to our cloud services

TIP: Account owners can perform these steps.

When using cloud services like RDA to upload or reset a company, an account owner or permitted user can reconnect the company data.

The account owner can grant authority for other users to cloud-connect, here's how:

  1. Log in to Sage 50 Accounts.
  2. Click Connected services.
  3. Click Manage account access.
  4. Go to Users.
  5. Click Send invitation.
  6. Enter the user's email address.
  7. Click Send invitation.
  8. The user will receive an email invite. They need to accept the invite to complete this process.

The user will have cloud connection permissions after they've accepted the invite.

Transfer ownership

If someone else in your business is to be the account owner, you can transfer ownership to them.

CAUTION: This process doesn't change the main billing contact for your Sage subscription. If you need to change this, get in touch.

After accessing the portal:

  1. Log in with your Sage account if you're prompted.
  2. Click Transfer ownership.
  3. Select an authorised user from the list.
NOTE: The user must already have permission to use cloud services. Grant authority using the steps in this section if required.
  4. Tick the box to agree to the account ownership transfer conditions.
  5. Click Submit
  6. The new owner will receive an email to accept ownership by clicking a link in the email.

Once the transfer is complete, the new account owner must authorise other users to connect company data to the cloud, if needed.

Revoke cloud connection permissions

To revoke permission:

  1. Go to the User list.
  2. Click Revoke rights next to the user you want to remove cloud connection permissions.
  3. Click Revoke rights on the pop-up message.

This user can no longer connect companies to our cloud services. If this email is linked to the Manager username of any RDA company, reset RDA using an email with cloud connection permission.
