About the manage cloud connection window
Description

If you use any of the following connected services:

  • Bank Feeds
  • Invoice Finance
  • Invoice Payments
  • Satago
  • Customer Account Portal
  • Sage for Accountants

You'll see the below message if you restore a backup onto a different computer, if your Sage Account details need to be authenticated or when you update to v30.1 from an older version.

You'll need to pick an option to ensure your data is updated correctly and still accessible. We'll show you how.

Resolution

When you install v30.1 of Sage 50 Accounts or restore your data to a new location you'll see the Manage cloud connection window if you had a connected service set up before.

There are two options to choose from. The table below explains which option you should choose depending on the scenario:

Scenario Which option to select? Reason
If you're an accountant, and your client has sent you a backup in order to make adjustments or run reports (etc.) Work without Sage Account Cloud Connected services aren't required to make changes to accounting data or viewing records.
You're a Sage 50 Accounts user and take a backup from the office to home, in order to complete some work at home. Work without Sage Account Cloud Connected services aren't required to make changes to accounting data.
You upgrade to v30.1, from v29.2 or below (and don't use Remote Data Access). Reconnect with Sage Account You've upgraded your program, we need you to sign in with your Sage ID to complete the process.
You restore a backup that was created prior to v30.1. Reconnect with Sage Account You've upgraded your data, we need you to sign in with your Sage ID to complete the process.
You move data for troubleshooting purposes. Work without Sage Account No need to connect your Sage Account.
You move data because you get a new server. Reconnect with Sage Account This is a brand new location, you need to sign in with your Sage Account.
If your Sage Account (Sage ID) details have become invalid. Reconnect with Sage Account The software requires your Sage ID to continue.
You have no internet connection, or the Sage ID service is not available.  Work without Sage Account Where the service is down or no internet is available, when the user logs in, they'll need to select work without Sage Account.
If you're an accountant using Client Manager and you install v30.1 before your client has updated. Work without Sage Account The accountant can work as normal but the client needs to log in with their Sage ID on their computer to resolve.
If you're an accountant using Client Manager and you restore a backup from v29.2 or below into v30.1 Work without Sage Account The accountant can work as normal but the client needs to log in with their Sage ID to resolve.
If no access to the email for the Sage Account. Work without Sage Account If you need to reconnect but don't have access to the email for the Sage Account, you can disconnect all connected services >
Restored into a new location and you want to disconnect all cloud connected services. Reconnect with Sage Account Log in with your Sage Account (Sage ID) and then click Connected Services and then Disconnect Sage Account. Find out more >
If you were using a 32-bit version of Sage 50 Accounts, and upgrade to a 64-bit version. Reconnect with Sage Account As the Sage Account details are stored in a different location in 64-bit program, we need you to log in with your Sage ID to complete the upgrade.
