Prepare to install Sage 50 Accounts

Check your serial and account numbers

You need your serial and account number to activate your software. You can find these on your email or the invoice you received with the software.

TIP:

If you don't have the email, or your invoice to hand, you can retrieve these details from your My Sage Account. Follow the Check your activation key section below.

Check your activation key

Go to https://my.sage.co.uk, then enter your details and select Sign In.
Select Software, then choose Active products.
Select your serial number, then make a note of your activation key.

Check your system requirements and access

Before you install Sage 50 Accounts, you, or your IT support, check the following:

Your computer meets the recommended system requirements for Sage 50 Accounts
If you're installing on a network, ensure you share your data folder and apply permissions
All users currently working in Sage 50 Accounts must log out before you install the software or any updates

Check if you have a 64-bit operating system

We recommend using the 64-bit version if you can, to help ensure you get the best experience.

Back up your data and check your data in each company in Sage 50 Accounts. This prevents any data loss
If you find errors or warnings in your data, you must fix them before proceeding
