Connecting an advisor, such as an accountant or a bookkeeper, allows them to access your Sage account and assist with tasks like accounting and payroll.

To invite an advisor, you need their Advisor ID or email address. This will let them securely connect and help manage your business.

Find your Advisor ID to give to your clients.

You can only invite one advisor by email and you can invite up to five advisors if they use an Advisor ID.

Before you begin

Log into Sage Accounting or Payroll as an Administrator user.

Invite an advisor

1. From the navigation bar, select your business name.
2. In the Users pane, select Manage business.
3. Select Manage advisor access.

   NOTE:

   If you don't see Manage advisor access, you don't have the required permissions. Ask the business owner or an administrator user for help.

4. Choose either Invite with Advisor ID or Invite with email address. Follow the relevant steps below.

Invite with Advisor ID

1. Enter the Advisor ID, and then select Check. 
2. Select Next, add permissions.
3. Select the product you want to invite your accountant to in the Product field.
4. Select Full Access in the Role field.
5. Select Next, confirm invite then Yes, send invitation.

After you send the invitation to your accountant, wait for them to accept it. Once accepted, your Sage Subscription will connect to your accountants.

Invite using an email address

1. Enter the email address that your accountant provided.
2. Select Send invitation. 

After you send the invitation to your advisor, wait for them to accept it.

Check invitation status and manage access

If you want to check on the status of an invitation you sent to an accountant, refer to the Invitation History section.

On this page, you can remove an accountant connection or check the status of an outstanding invitation.
