When you delete a company from Online Bureau, it won't affect any data for that company in Sage 50 Payroll. NOTE: If you need to change an employee's email address, follow the change an employee's email address - Online Bureau article.
Important informationIf a client has moved from another accountant using Sage 50 Payroll Online Bureau to you, or vice versa, an alternative to deletion is migration. For further support with migrations, use the migrate an Online Bureau company to/from another Accountant article. Before you deleteTake note of the following details before you delete a company from Online Bureau: - A username can only delete a company if it has Manager level permissions to all services enabled in the company
- The deletion removes all data for the company from Online Bureau, you can't delete specific services, for example Online Documents only.
- Accountants clients and their employee's will be unable to access payslip information
- If you delete a company from your online portal, and during the setup an error appears, Get in touch to resolve this error
NOTE: This is because the database for this company in Sage 50 Payroll still has Online Bureau flagged as enabled. Sage technical support can reset this to allow you to set this company up again.
Delete a companyWhen you're ready to delete a company, follow the steps below: - Log in to the company you want to delete in Online Bureau.
- Select Settings then Company information.
- Select Delete company.
NOTE: Find out what to do if the ▼ Delete company button isn't thereThis occurs if the username you log in with doesn't have Manager permissions on all services enabled in this company. The Company Deletion section lists the enabled services. To continue with the deletion: - Log in with a username with Manager permissions on all enabled services and try again, or
- Update the permissions on your username to Manager on all services. Manage user permissions - Online Bureau
- A window appears to confirm a list of all the enabled services for this company that you'll delete if you continue.
- By default, the Confirm button to complete the deletion isn't available. To enable it, enter the Employer PAYE Reference of the company you're deleting.
TIP: The Confirm button is only available when you enter the correct PAYE Reference for this company. - Select Confirm.
