Change a non-stock item to a stock item
Description

Make products or services inactive

NOTE:

Stock functionality is only available in Sage Accounting Plus. To upgrade, read how to upgrade your Sage subscription.

Before you start

You can only convert a stock item if it doesn't have any transactions recorded against it.

If it already has a transaction recorded against it:

  1. Create a new item with your preferred stock type.
  2. Mark the old one as inactive.

Otherwise, read on to change your stock type.

Resolution

Change a stock item into a non-stock item or vice versa

  1. Go to Products and Services. Select the item you want to convert.
  2. Select Edit, then select the Change type link.
  3. Select Convert Item.
  4. Review the details held within the Edit Item window. Make any necessary changes.
  5. Select Save.
